For multiple page websites, does increasing the pagerank on one page increase your other pages rank?
Q. Or do you have to do SEO (backlinking and so forth) for each individual page?
Asked by brown_h0rnet - Mon Feb 25 05:27:31 2008 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Each web page has it's own unique Pagerank, the way Pagerank is gained is by backlinks to your web pages from off-site backlinks. Yes, internal linking does distribute Pagerank, the issue is it divided up just the same as with outbound links, so if you have 5 internal links and 5 out bound links on one web page your passing on in theory only 1\10 of the possible value you can. Now, if Pagerank is divided up different via internal links and out bound links is something only the Google engineers would know and keep secret to prevent abuse. You best bet is to build backlinks to all your web pages, using proper anchor text to help your SERPs as well.

A. PageRank is all about links. The more links (and the better quality they are) the higher your PR will go. If you need ideas on how to get more backlinks, this article is a good place to start: Also, PR only updates about once a quarter so you may indeed have higher PR and you just can't see it yet!

A. To get good pagerank you need a website design thats search engine friendly, have a sitemap, and lots of one way links from quality sites. To get ranked high in Google you need good pagerank, fresh unique content, and your keywords in your meta tags, header, opening paragraph, and footer. Also its good to inlcude your keywords in your anchor text from the sites linking to you. I myself use the Internet Business Promoter software and it helps greatly. You can check it out along with other software here:

A. On the google toolbar there is a "settings" option on the right. Click that and select "options", then "more" tab, then third set down should be "even more buttons" and check the "page rank and page info" button and away you go..

Does PageRank consider an iframe as a link?
Q. I have a page on my site that others embed into their website using an iframe. I have a link on the page directed back to my site. Will this count as a link to my site? When other people embed the page into their site will it help my rank on search engines? And if it doesn't count as a link when people embed the page into their site how do I change the programming to make it so it does?
Asked by cverzonilla1 - Sat Mar 8 06:46:34 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Plug the url of the iframe into Google to see if it has been indexed. If it is indexed then the link will count if it isn't then it will not count.

What does Google "PageRank not available" mean?
Q. I created a blog of one page on Blogger back in July 2008. I don't have any traffic. My page is indexed in Google, but what does Google "PageRank not available" mean? How can I get Google to say PageRank of "0/10" at least to start instead of "PageRank not availabe?"
Asked by Andy - Wed Jan 28 11:00:30 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Page Rank not available means that the website or webpage you are viewing has not been rated by google yet. I don't think you'd be able to change the notification message to 0/10. Because, if it is shown 0/10, it means that the page has been analysed and ranked the least. And hence the notification of unranked pages is "PageRank not available".

How does Google PageRank work? Why do I have PR 0?
Q. I put up a new web site last weekend. I know it's not as flashy as most sites, but it's my own work and I thought it was okay. I clicked on "submit url" to google and yahoo so it could be included in their searches. I checked the Google Page Rank of my site. It has a PR of zero. According to what I've read, this is not really normal. Most sites with ANY content should have a 3 or better. (Am I right or did I misinterpret?) Anyway, what can I do to improve my PR? Asked by TumbleTim - Sun Jan 28 15:37:38 2007 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Hey Tim, PageRank is often misunderstood. Here are some main points: 1) PageRank is figured per PAGE not per SITE 2) PageRank is Google's measure of the authortativeness of the page 3) To protect their market, Google displays pagerank that is 3-5 months old. So, with the above information, your new site has a PageRank of 0 because it was not in existence 3-5 months ago. To increase the PageRank, you will want to seek links to your website from trusted places. Since you have an educational themed site, links from schools (.edu) would be a huge benefit. Also, Google updates the PageRank on the toolbar about once a quarter. They just did an update, so the next one will be in about three months. You can see the article below for… [cont.]

Q. PageRank Question: How does a second "text only" version of the site effect rankings?
Asked by stonerosedesigndotcom - Mon Jul 16 20:53:12 2007 - - 1 Answers - 1 Comments

A. If you mean that you have a Flash site and you want to put up a text version on another domain, then there will be no effect as far as the search engines are concerned. Having two sites that are almost the same means that your inbound links will be distributed across the two sites rather than concentrated on one. Get rid of the Flash version!

However, Google says that the pagerank computed in the algorithm is updated daily Watch the forums such as WebmasterWorld (Google Search topic) as the forums are typically go buzzing loud when pagerank movements in various Google datacenters are detected
