How to add meta on wordpress? It is used to verify on Google sitemaps?
Q. I want to use google webmaster tools, and it needed to prove/verify if the site is mine. And google give a meta tag to write it down on our page between. The question is how can i add meta on wordpress? There's no choice to edit HTML on wordpress
Asked by Ronald - Sat Jul 4 05:41:59 2009 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments
A. You need to add that code in header.php. If you are using 2.7.1 or greater version then just go to Appearance->Editor->heade r.php If you are using any previous version then go to Design->Theme Editor->header.php Add the code just above the tag. It is better if you upload the single blank file to your host. Choose html as verification option option in Google Webmaster.

A. Well to check this you can search your website name in google, when it shows in the results your website you have under the site title and description two links: "Cached" and "Similar" Click on "Cached" and it will show you a copy of your website and on the top some information: "This is Google's cache of It is a snapshot of the page as it appeared on XXX" Where XXX is the last date google crawled that page :) For more info and even creating sitemaps for google you can use "Google Webmaster" services. A. Ahh welcome to the world of web deisgn. FTP clients are the only way to correctly upload sitemaps for professional websites. New users I recommend cuteFTP or the free alternative (fileZilla). Note: Sitemaps - Google main search engine user. UrlLists.txt - Yahoo uses this instead. So make sure you provide both. Also you could make a backup gzip of it because google will accept both. Also remember to submit your sitemap once you are done to the webmasters section of google. Best of luck!

Does anyone know a way to completely automate my Google Sitemaps and Yahoo Site Explorer XML File Submissions?
Q. Hello everyone, I have a dynamic website and new pages are added everyday. It's becoming extremely difficult to manage and submit my xml sitemap files to both Google and Yahoo all the time. Does anyone know of a better way to completely automate this process? I will be willing to pay if anyone has a solution. p.s. Does anyone know if Microsoft MSN/Live came out with an XML Sitemap submission? I can't seem to find one. Thanks. Dynamic

A. Hello dynamic, I had the same problem, I had a community site that was growing at a about 10 pages a day. I was searching the internet for some tools and finally found the perfect solution, They have a product a service called the HH Sitemap Manager, they are processing all of my sites 3 times a week for only a couple bucks a month. I was definitely weary at first but the customer service was excellent and I was up and running by the next day. I would definately recommend giving them a try. As for you other question? I have read that MSN should have something out by this spring. If I hear anything I'll post it here.

Do I need to resubmit a Google Sitemap when new links are added?
Q. I have an XML sitemap in Google Webmaster. I have added 30+ new pages since the sitemap was uploaded. Do I need to recreate a sitemap and resubmit when I make additions or is it automatic?
Asked by fastcarceo25 - Wed Aug 26 10:00:10 2009 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments
A. It depends on how your site is constructed and what your sitemap generator software is. If you have a Wordpress or other CMS with plugins that create an XML sitemap, they can automatically generate a new sitemap everyday so you are sure that you get to submit to the search engines your new content every day Otherwise, it is best to regenerate and resubmit your sitemap if you add new pages so Google and other SEs can easily crawl your new pages

Do I have to resubmit my website to google after i make changes to it?
Q. I have 2 sitemaps but i had to fix some errors in my pages and was wondering if i have to resubmit my site and/or sitmaps to google?
Asked by lilshootr07 - Sat Jun 13 21:41:05 2009 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments
A. No, no need to update, Google will regularly send its spider (or bot) around, and this spider will see the changes in your pages. You only need to update your sitemaps when you made changes to the structure of you website, so added or deleted pages, or changed names of urls or something alike. Even then it is not necessary to update your sitemap, but it will help the spider to find these changes faster.

Yahoo! Personal Site Search and Sitemaps . . . Do They Interact ?
Q. I'm more technical than most, though not a programmer. I get and have enabled Yahoo! Personal Site Search and have built a Sitemap.
